Why this project?
However French is one of the official languages in Morocco, many people have little skills in the French language. Hence, ACJ wants to offer people a French language course in the summer. English is taught in secondary schools, but the level is very low. Only a small minority of the Moroccan people does speak the language. Many people appear to have the desire to learn the languages.
Method
Volunteers will have the responsibility over a small (maximal 18) group of students, who will be grouped according to their individual level. We will give classes to volunteers according to their wishes, experiences and flexibilities in an introduction meeting. Volunteers are free to choose the method which suites them best. A copy machine will be available to make copies for your student as well as CD players. ACJ developed a manual with tips and advices regarding the methods volunteers can use in their course. we also provide volunteers with manuals used in schools and courses given in previous years by volunteers. Obviously, volunteers can always approach the project coordinator or members of ACJ with any kind of questions.
Accommodation
Volunteers can choose to stay in hostfamilies or to stay together in a school or a house or youth house. Staying in hostfamilies gives volunteers the opportunity to explore the Moroccan culture from the inside and to establish a friendly relationship with the Moroccan people.
Who can participate?
Everybody who has the minimum age of 18 years old, who has sufficient knowledge of the French or English language, who is strongly motivated and has a creative mind.

Why this project?
Schools in the area of Ouarzazate have a sober and boring look. AVS wants to give the schools a more child oriented look.
Method
The idea is to decorate schools with for example nice figures. or even to paint it if required .

Volunteers will stay together in a school or youth house

Everybody who has the minimum age of 18 years old and who is sufficiently motivated.

ACJ3 : Organizing activities for children.
Date : 7th to 21th August 2014.
Location :FakihBenSalah.
Why this project?
There are no facilities for children in Errachidia
and its neighborhood. It is not the habit that children
have toys and schools have no playgrounds or
schoolyards. A lot of children are bored, hanging around, doing nothing. For these children ACJ wants to organize activities in the summer to give them a nice holiday. ACJ aims to attract especially children from poor families,
Method The children will be grouped according to their age. Each volunteer will guide a group of children. Volunteers are free to design the program and choose activities according to their own whishes and the preferences of the children. Examples of activities are theater, dance, music, games and sports. Again, volunteers have to take into account that there are limited materials available. Before your arrival we expect you to have many ideas of activities to do for the kids, so when you are preparing the work with other volunteers you can participate giving ideas and propose activites. Mostly children understand the games/tasks by giving a first example, but there are also translators in case.
